NYSE Euronext views diversity as a business imperative, essential to the company's success as a leading global financial marketplace and employer of choice. This focus is underscored in the mission of the company's Diversity Council, which was established in 1999.

The mission of the Diversity Council is to ensure the future success of NYSE Euronext by supporting its efforts to create and maintain a culture that fosters an inclusive, diverse workforce and an environment in which everyone has an opportunity to be successful to the full extent of his/her ability.

Our Diversity Programs
To advance this mission, the Diversity Council -- a volunteer group of employees from many parts of the company -- has worked with colleagues in Human Resources and other key partners to implement a broad range of initiatives, including:

Mentoring Circles, in which officers mentor small groups of employees to convey important information about the organization that is useful to individuals' success, and help people learn the company's culture and how to work through job and organizational issues
Employee Resource Groups, in which self-started and self-managed groups of employees organize around a shared characteristic or experience -- such as race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, or disability -- to leverage their common interests to contribute ideas and new programs to the company.
Benefits for domestic partners of employees with non-traditional households
Flexible-work arrangements, including part-time, job-share, flexible work hours and phased retirement;
Training all management and professional staff on diversity awareness and issues
• Enhancing the job-posting program to ensure it is open and inclusive
• Expansion of minority recruitment for all levels of employment
• Adding diversity-management values to annual performance reviews, consistent with NYSE Euronext's Board of Directors listing diversity among the company's core corporate values
NYSE Community Volunteers, which provides opportunities for employees individually or in groups to perform volunteer work outside of work for non-profit organizations
Volunteer Incentive Program, in which the NYSE Foundation makes grants to eligible non-profit organizations where eligible employees serve as volunteers; and broadening NYSE Foundation's Matching Gift Program to make eligible a wider array of charitable causes, to reflect programs most important to employees
Periodic cultural assessments to inform decision making by the Council and senior management
Diversity Dialogue Dinners with senior executives and groups of employees, which have yielded several new ideas and much valuable input
Supplier Diversity Program that helps diversify the company's relationships with vendors
• Accurately and visibly presenting the company's leadership in diversity in communications and marketing.
