Promoting Diversity

At NYSE Euronext, diversity means enabling people of all ages, races, genders and sexual orientations and people with disabilities, as well as those with different cultures, religions and styles to work together effectively to meet company objectives and maximize their potential.

NYSE Euronext views diversity as a business imperative essential to the company's success as a leading global financial marketplace and employer of choice. In 1999, we established a Diversity Council with the mission of ensuring the future success of the company by supporting its efforts to create and maintain a culture that fosters an inclusive, diverse workforce and an environment in which everyone has an opportunity to be successful to the full extent of his/her ability.

To advance this mission, the Diversity Council - a volunteer group of employees from many parts of the company - has worked with colleagues in Human Resources and other key partners to implement a broad range of initiatives, including:

  • Mentoring Circles, Employee Resource Groups
  • Benefits for domestic partners of employees with non-traditional households;
  • Flexible-work arrangements
  • Mandatory Diversity Training for all management and professional staff
  • Enhancing the job-posting program to ensure it is open and inclusive
  • Expansion of minority recruitment
  • Adding diversity-management values to annual performance reviews
  • NYSE Community Volunteers
  • Volunteer Incentive Program
  • Broadening the NYSE Euronext Foundation's Matching Gift Program
  • Periodic cultural assessments
  • Diversity Dialogue Dinners with senior executives and groups of employees
