Veteran Employee Resource Group

NYSE Euronext believes that people work together more productively and build a stronger community when they have opportunities to learn from colleagues with similar backgrounds and share experiences with people facing similar challenges and opportunities through job-related activities.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at NYSE are sponsored by the Diversity Council and are self-started, self-managed group of employees organized around a shared characteristic or experience, such as race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or particular interest.

The Veterans Support Employee Resource Group was established in November 2011 and is comprised of NYSE Euronext employees and members of the Trading Floor community who are Veterans and who served in various branches of the military, as well as employees who may not have a direct association with the military but who are interested in supporting active duty military personnel and Veterans.

The purpose of the group is to offer assistance to all military Veterans and active duty military personnel who have served this nation honorably, whether currently employed by NYSE Euronext or not; to educate and raise awareness about military men and women returning home and who need jobs; to attract and retain Veterans at NYSE Euronext; and to offer support and outreach to current and/or former military members who are struggling to support and feed themselves and their families.

Some of the initiatives undertaken by the Veterans Support ERG include:

  • $1,000 donated to a food bank that feeds needy and homeless veterans;
  • Care Package Drive – collection and distribution of supplies to five Army, Navy and Marine units in Iraq and Afghanistan
  • Military Dog Supply Drive
